Partnership Programs
We strive to make training as accessible as possible by partnering with leading programs to offer free local training. Past programs include:
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) Program – In partnership with Aamjiwnaang and Lambton College
- Pre-Health Sciences Program – In collaboration with St. Clair College
- Powerline Technician and Line Crew Ground Support Training – Delivered with the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA)
- Construction Certificate Program – IHSA Certified Program

free classes
We offer various seminars and workshops throughout the year to help people update their skills. Some of the classes include Tax Seminars, Entrepreneurship Workshops, Indigenous Empowerment Workshops, Digital Marketing Classes, Resume Workshops and more.
Skills and Development Training
We offer financial support to eligible Bkejwanong band members pursuing post-secondary training at a public or private institution. To qualify, the program must:
- Be less than one year in length
- Provide accreditation, certification, or licensing upon completion
- Enhance employment prospects after the program
To apply for funding, band members must:
- Submit a training request to Employment & Training
- Participate in a case management process
- Develop an employment action plan with a Giyakiishchigewin employment counsellor
