Training Opportunities

Partnership Programs

In order to make training as accessible as possible, we partner with other programs to deliver free training locally. Programs have included a Personal Support (PSW) program in collaboration with Aamjiwnaang and Lambton College, a Pre-Health Sciences program with St. Clair College, and a Powerline Technician and Line Crew Ground Support Training Program with Infrastructure Health and Safety Association.

Free Classes

We offer various seminars and workshops throughout the year to
help people update their skills. Some of the classes include Tax Seminars, Entrepreneurship Workshops, Indigenous Empowerment Workshops, Digital Marketing Classes, Resume Workshops and more.

Skills and Development Training

We provide financial support to eligible Bkejwanong band members who are seeking post-secondary training at a public or private training institution. Programs Must be less than one year in length. Each training opportunity must provide the participant with accreditation, certification, or licensing upon completion of the training program. The training must also improve the employment prospects of the participant upon completion of the training program. To be considered for funding, Bkejwanong band members must make a training request to Employment & Training, be engaged in a case management process and have an employment action plan developed jointly with a Giyakiishchigewin employment counsellor.
